The Riverview Florida area is growing leaps and bounds. By Mid 2015 we are going to have a Full Service Hospital and Mall on Big Bend Road. Newland Communities is building a new subdivision off of Big Bend Road called Waterset. New Proposed YMCA directly across the street from St. Joseph's Hospital. As you can see there are lots of things Happening in the greater Riverview Florida area.

Since our founding by the Franciscan Sisters of Allegany more than 78 years ago, St. Joseph's Hospital's name has been synonymous with compassionate and advanced care. Together, St. Joseph's Hospital, St. Joseph's Women's Hospital, St. Joseph's Children's Hospital and St. Joseph's Hospital-North have ensured that virtually all of our community's health care needs could be met with the St. Joseph's Hospital standard of experience and expertise. The Cancer Institute, Heart Center, Stroke Center, Advanced Center for Atrial Fibrillation and Level II Trauma designation are just a few examples of the extraordinary breadth of services St. Joseph's brings to the Tampa Bay area.
In October 2012, construction begins on St. Joseph's Hospital-South, the first not-for-profit hospital to serve the growing South Shore area of our community which is now considered to be somewhat medically underserved. The 352,000 square foot hospital will be located approximately one-half mile east of the intersection of I-75 and Big Bend Road and can be easily accessed via I-75 and Highway 301.
HOSPITAL SERVICES
Emergency Center : A full service, 32-bed unit with all private examination rooms with 10-exam rooms dedicated to fast track patients
Surgical and Interventional Platform: Six operating room suites with two designated for women and two interventional radiology/cardiac catheterization laboratories. Services include general, orthopedic, urology, outpatient pediatric, and gastrointestinal endoscopic surgery; and interventional radiology and cardiac catheterization. The women's platform includes obstetrics assessment, labor and delivery, and women's operating rooms for low-risk obstetrics.
Intensive Care Unit: A high tech, 16-bed intensive care unit for patients with complex medical and surgical needs who require close observation from specially trained nursing staff
Medical/Surgical Units: Two units with 30 all-private inpatient rooms on each unit and two outpatient observation units with all-private rooms on each unit
Mother/Baby Unit: A 14-bed unit with all-private rooms to accommodate mother, baby, and family. A 10-bassinet nursery will also be available. St. Joseph's Hospital-South will be a referral link to St. Joseph's Hospitals (Main Campus) for tertiary care related to trauma services, cardiac surgery, Cancer Institute, Children's Hospital services, neonatal intensive care unit, high risk obstetrics and multiple births.
St. Joseph's Hospital-South will be part of BayCare Health System, a leading community based health system in the Tampa Bay area. Composed of a network of 10 not-for-profit hospitals, outpatient facilities and services such as imaging, lab, behavioral health and home health care, BayCare provides expert medical care throughout a patient's lifetime.

Located outside of Tampa, Florida at the intersection of I-75 and Big Bend Road, current plans include 1,000,000 square feet of retail space, 490,000 square feet of Class A office space and 250 hotel rooms. Southshore Commons promises to be the premier shopping, dining and entertainment venue in the South Shore trade area of Tampa Bay. Its town center style will create a gathering place and focal point for this growing community. Phase I is scheduled to open in Spring 2014.

New YMCA in Gibsonton to be Discussed at Public Meeting
Right now, it's a vacant piece of property at the south end of the Vance Vogel Sports Complex, 13012 Bullfrog Creek Rd., Gibsonton.
